All these years down the line, we're still here making folk laugh once a month on a Thursday. The tiny room behind the Lescar has seen the biggest acts in the country from time to time, like Peter Kay, Jimmy Carr, Dara O Briain, Johnny Vegas and Al Murray. Come on down, get hot and sweaty with us, you may just be seeing a star of the future.
Top comedians, a packed crowd, and one of Sheffield’s best pubs. Don’t miss it.
Sheffield’s legendary Thursday night comedy returns with another cracking line-up on January 15th.
A cracking night of live comedy at The Lescar, bringing together experienced pros and bright new talent in one beautifully boisterous room. Steering the ship is Tom Douglas, a masterful MC with razor timing and just enough chaos to keep everyone on their toes. Joining him are Seeta Wrightson, delivering sharp, thoughtful stand-up with warmth and bite, and Sully O’Sullivan, whose big energy and fearless delivery make him impossible to ignore. Add in a couple of newer acts sharpening their teeth and you’ve got a proper comedy night: unpredictable, lively, and very funny.
"Sheffield is home to one of the best comedy clubs in the country, The Last Laugh, a famously sweaty gig in the back room of The Lescar pub. You'd do a forty minute set, and come off drenched and have to change in the kitchen as the punters wandered past the door. For some reason I can still see the giant tubs of margarine , as I tried to look casual while conducting a post-mortem, shirtless and glistening, with the show host Toby Foster"
