Well, this is where it all started back in 1992, when Roger Monkhouse decided to run a comedy club in Hunter's Bar.

All these years down the line, we're still here making folk laugh once a month on a Thursday. The tiny room behind the Lescar has seen the biggest acts in the country from time to time, like Peter Kay, Jimmy Carr, Dara O Briain, Johnny Vegas and Al Murray. Sheffield’s legendary Thursday night comedy returns with another blazing night on May 14th.

The Lescar comedy nights are famous for that rare thing – a proper live atmosphere where anything can happen. A packed back room, drinks flowing, big laughs and just the right amount of chaos. It’s intimate, lively and always a brilliant night out.

Guiding proceedings is Tom Douglas as MC, a confident and experienced host who knows exactly how to keep the room buzzing. Sharp with the crowd, quick on his feet and naturally funny, he’s the perfect ringmaster for a Lescar night.

Joining him is Hatty Preston, a smart, energetic comic with a warm stage presence and plenty of punchy material. She’s got the kind of style that wins a room over fast and keeps the laughs coming.

Also on the bill is Kevin Daniel, bringing sharp observations, strong delivery and the sort of relaxed confidence that comes from knowing how to land a joke. A cracking addition to any line-up and sure to go down a storm.

As ever, there’ll also be a couple of newer acts getting their chance on the famous Lescar stage, which is one of the reasons these nights stay so exciting. You never know when you’re about to spot the next big thing.
